# Main Settings

## High Resolution

`High Resolution Enabled` switches between the high- and low-resolution texture sets used by Earth Atlas 80K.

When enabled, the Earth surface and country boundary data use up to 80K resolution, clouds use 32K, and night-side lights use 40K textures. When disabled, lower-resolution 8K versions are used.

At globe-scale and high-orbit distances, the visual difference is usually subtle.

At low-orbit and close-up distances, the additional detail becomes much more noticeable.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use high-resolution mode for close-up views and final renders. Low-resolution mode can reduce texture memory usage when the additional detail is not required.
{% endhint %}

## Earth Rotation

`Earth Rotation Angle` rotates the globe around its geographic axis. The value is specified in degrees and can be animated in Level Sequencer.

A value of 0° restores the default geographic orientation of the globe.

## Country Selection

`Selected Country` defines the country or territory currently used by the country visualization system. Only one country can be selected at a time.

The list contains 254 countries and territories based on the Natural Earth 1:10m Admin 0 dataset.

Four entries from the source dataset are intentionally excluded from the selectable list:

* Cyprus UN Buffer Zone
* Siachen Glacier
* Southern Patagonian Ice Field
* Bir Tawil

`Selected Country` can be animated in Level Sequencer, allowing the active country to change during a sequence.

The visual style of the selected country — including country fill, country borders, and province borders — is configured in the Earth Style Manager.

When `BP_EarthCameraRig` is used, the camera rig can also be moved directly to the currently selected country.
