# Borders Falloff

The `Borders Falloff` controls define how the borders of surrounding countries are limited around the currently selected country. This allows neighboring borders to provide geographic context without displaying the entire global border network.

All Borders Falloff parameters can be animated in Level Sequencer.

## Borders Expansion

`Borders Expansion` controls how far surrounding country borders extend away from the selected country before the falloff is applied.

Lower values keep the visible border area close to the selected country, while higher values reveal longer portions of neighboring borders.

## Borders Falloff

`Borders Falloff` controls the width of the transition in which surrounding country borders fade out.

A value of `0` produces a sharp cutoff, while higher values create a wider and smoother transition.

## Borders Falloff Power

`Borders Falloff Power` controls the shape of the opacity curve within the falloff area. It changes how the border opacity is distributed across the transition without changing the overall falloff distance.

Use this parameter to fine-tune the character of the fade between the fully visible and hidden portions of surrounding borders.
