# Camera Rig Blueprint

`BP_EarthCameraRig` provides a convenient way to position and control a camera around the globe using geographic coordinates and Earth-specific camera controls.

Multiple `BP_EarthCameraRig` actors can be placed in the same level, reference the same `BP_Earth` actor, and be configured independently for different shots, camera distances, or viewing angles. Regular Unreal Engine cameras can also be used alongside them.

In normal use, the Camera Rig is controlled through its exposed parameters rather than by manually transforming the actor.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Most Camera Rig controls can be animated directly in Level Sequencer.** This includes `Target Altitude (Km)`, `Camera Distance (Km)`, `Latitude`, `Longitude`, `Camera Focal Length`, and `Camera Roll Pitch Yaw`.

`Follow Earth Rotation` and `Camera Rotation Mode` are not animatable.

### Camera Presets & Navigation

Quickly set up common camera views or move the Camera Rig to the country currently selected in `BP_Earth`.

Camera presets provide predefined starting points, while country navigation makes it easy to reposition the camera without manually entering geographic coordinates.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Camera Positioning

Controls where the camera is positioned around the Earth and which point on or above the surface it targets.

Geographic coordinates define the target location on the Earth. `Target Altitude (Km)` moves this target above the surface, while `Camera Distance (Km)` controls the camera's distance from the target. The Camera Rig can also optionally follow the Earth's rotation.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Camera Lens

Controls the camera's focal length, allowing you to switch between wider views and more compressed telephoto-style compositions without changing the geographic target.

{% hint style="info" %}
Advanced users can select the camera component inside `BP_EarthCameraRig` to access additional standard Unreal Engine camera settings that are not exposed directly by the Camera Rig.

{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Camera Orientation

`Camera Rotation Mode` defines how the camera is oriented relative to its target.

`Camera Roll Pitch Yaw` provides additional local rotation offsets for fine control over the final composition.
{% endstep %}

### Reference & Advanced Settings

`Earth Reference` must be assigned for Earth-relative Camera Rig features to work correctly.

The `Advanced` section contains `Show Orbit Target`, which controls the visibility of the `Orbit Target` marker in the viewport. It can be enabled as a visual reference when positioning or configuring the Camera Rig.
