# Animation Overview

Earth Atlas 80K is designed to work with Unreal Engine's Level Sequencer. Most of the main Earth, camera, lighting, and visualization parameters can be added directly as Sequencer tracks and animated over time.

You can use the included `LS_Default` sequence or create a new Level Sequence for your shot.

## Sequence Setup

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open or create a Level Sequence

Open the included `LS_Default` sequence, or create a new Level Sequence from the Cinematics menu.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://877379945-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FcArBtzAurqdWxS4Aqg3o%2Fuploads%2F2xaQ4GU16Ta59RZKpo3P%2FAnm_CreateLS.png?alt=media&amp;token=89267f25-ba21-4903-824c-097b1f06c428" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add the required actors

Add `BP_Earth`, `BP_EarthCameraRig`, and/or `BP_EarthEnvironment` to the Level Sequence depending on which parameters you want to animate.

You only need to add the actors used by the current shot.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://877379945-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FcArBtzAurqdWxS4Aqg3o%2Fuploads%2FvI4D3nyHyjqdtLHG1GKH%2FAnm_AddBPs.png?alt=media&amp;token=3929f58b-8541-4c96-b96b-13e6527e8811" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add a Camera Cut Track

Add a **Camera Cut Track** to the Level Sequence.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://877379945-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FcArBtzAurqdWxS4Aqg3o%2Fuploads%2FuHGNnqJAy1SHu0zHjoXQ%2FAnm_AddCameraCut.png?alt=media&amp;token=389c36d7-e133-467f-8f7a-693b492cfeab" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Assign a camera

Add the camera used for the shot to the **Camera Cuts** track.

When using `BP_EarthCameraRig`, assign its camera to the Camera Cuts track.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://877379945-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FcArBtzAurqdWxS4Aqg3o%2Fuploads%2FDdkdY5dk3SNZGhjkcRwP%2FAnm_CameraCutAddCameraRig.png?alt=media&amp;token=f54cc528-8a40-491e-ad59-08cafe79a2dc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Sequencer displays exposed properties alphabetically within each category. This order may differ from the order of the parameters in the Blueprint Details panel.
{% endhint %}

## Animating `BP_Earth`

Select `BP_Earth` in the Level Sequence and use **+ Track** to add the parameter you want to animate.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://877379945-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FcArBtzAurqdWxS4Aqg3o%2Fuploads%2FGS2GdsdZQzsqbjx0YStN%2FAnm_BP_Earth.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=106b2e15-b970-4f42-bdd3-905dc815fda4" alt=""><figcaption><p><strong>1</strong> — General Properties · <strong>2</strong> — Borders Falloff · <strong>3</strong> — Country Borders · <strong>4</strong> — Country Fill · <strong>5</strong> — Country Label · <strong>6</strong> — Province Borders</p></figcaption></figure></div>

The available tracks are grouped in the same way as the corresponding Earth visualization settings.

Descriptions of these parameters can be found in the relevant sections of the documentation.

## Working with Keyframes

After adding a property track, use the standard Unreal Engine Sequencer workflow to create and edit animation keys.

Numeric and color parameters can be smoothly interpolated between keyframes, while Boolean and enum properties switch between discrete values.

For smooth transitions, animate the corresponding continuous parameter instead of an enable/disable property. For example, animate `Country Label Opacity` to fade a label in or out, while `Country Label Enabled` performs an immediate on/off switch.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip**\
Use the Curve Editor when you need more precise control over interpolation, easing, or animation timing.
{% endhint %}

## Example Sequence

The project includes `LS_Demo`, which provides an example of a configured Level Sequence and can be used as a reference when creating your own shots.
